Learndirect Government-funded courses aimed at helping you achieve your goals, whether professional or personal. You may want to brush up your skills, help the kids with their homework, or just take up a new hobby. There are over 750 courses available, and you can choose to either study at Learndirect centres in leisure and community centres, colleges, sports clubs, churches and libraries, or study at home if you are connected to the internet.
The Learndirect national learning advice line (Tel: 0800 100 900) can offer free, independent and impartial advice on courses and careers.
Skills for Life – Free courses are available to help improve basic reading, writing and/or numeracy skills.
Information Technology (IT) – Courses available for the complete beginner to the more advanced user.
Information Technology (IT) Professional – courses on web design and administration, supporting PCs and networks, networking and internet technology, programming and application development, and project management and e-commerce.
Business and Management – Covers business and management planning, communication, customer care, coaching, finance/budgeting, and professional/personal development, for all levels.
